Documentary Photography Part 2: Task 6

Producing an investigation into ways of presenting final images

Using blurb i was able to make a book and decide on the layout, the cover and where what images would go where.
For the cover there are 3 options:

  • Hardcover, Image wrap
  • Hardcover, Dust jacket
  • Softcover
Standard portrait book 8x10 Bold black- Layout

Choosing a font style:

 Front cover image:

Front cover with image and title:

Page 1

Page 2&3

Page 4&5

Page 6&7

Page 8&9

Page 10&11

Page 12

Small square book 7x7 clean and simple layout -
I used the same images and the same order of images but the difference is that the images fit the page

Front cover:

 Page 1

 Page 2&3

The reason why i have an alternate page is because the image of morrison's shopping offer is very pixelated when enlarged, so i tried to have the photograph both ways to see which looks better.

An alternate layout to page 2&3:

 Page 4&5

 Page 6&7
The image of the 'everything £1' with the closed down shop doesn't show the whole shop title when the image fits the page so i showed both layouts.
An alternate layout to this page:

 Page 8&9

 Page 10&11

 Page 12

  • Standard landscape book 10x8 Clean and simple layout -
Page 1
 Page 2&3
Page 4&5
 Page 6&7
 Page 8&9
Page 10&11

I chose to try out another book in landscape format because most of my images are in landscape.
